As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for improving sales performance and expanding the company’s market share within the assigned geographical location. You will also be responsible for leading the Sales team, fostering a high-performance culture, continuously improving sales processes, building brand awareness, and nurturing client relations.
To be successful in this role, you will be required to have an excellent knowledge of current trends in the sales market. You should be able to work with little supervision, possess excellent communication skills, and got to be ambitious and a go-getter to meet your objectives and ultimately exceed them, and inspire your team to do the same. You will also be required to multitask and collaborate with the team. Excellent performance will be recognized, appreciated and rewarded.
Specific Responsibilities
- Strategize, plan, set a challenging yet achievable sales goals and objectives, monitor individual and team performance, and regularly report on sales achievement.
- Manage, coach and inspire the sales team to meet and to eventually exceed targets and objectives.
- Actively participate and meaningfully contribute in improving sales processes, and in developing the annual marketing and sales plans.
- Build sales pipeline for new business opportunities.
- Seek and collect customer feedback, ensure proper management of customer issues and concerns, and provide regular updates to the clients, so as to the management.
- Regularly reach out to potential and existing clients via telephone calls, email communications, virtual and face-to-face meetings to present company offerings, build brand awareness, and close deals.
- Develop, nurture and sustain a mutually beneficial and a delightful long-term business relationships with clients.
- Implement a sales management process to assist the sales team in identifying and prioritizing key customers and prospects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is an advantage).
- Proven track record in sales, with at least 4 years in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
