Position Summary
The Delivery Driver is responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering of company goods to clients, customers and/or business partners in a safe and timely manner. He is also tasked to review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied. Moreso, the Delivery Driver is also expected to assist loading and unloading of goods from vehicles.
Essential Duties
- Deliver various goods to different addresses as assigned.
- Stick to a schedule and be time-bound on the job.
- Follow and adhere the prescribed routes and following time schedules which is most convenient for the delivery schedule.
- Load and unload the goods from the vehicle as needed.
- Inspect, operate and maintain the vehicle and its cleanliness.
- Collect payments whenever necessary.
- Ensure the customer receives the package.
- Maintain a log of all deliveries and related information for reference and confirmation.
- Follow road safety rules and regulations.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.
- Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
- Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
- Operating equipment and machines, such as delivery carts, hand pallet jacks, mechanized lifters, etc.
- Performing any other task assigned by immediate superior/s from time to time as needed & required
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid and certified driver’s license holder issued by Land Transportation Office bearing at least a nonprofessional driver’s license with minimum restriction codes of B2 & C – allowable license restriction to operate truck with GVW of 3,500 kgs.
- Hands-on experience delivering items to various addresses.
- Learning how to organize and multitask on the job.
- Learn on the job regarding the best practices in the industry.
- Exposure to the logistics industry.
- Clean driving record.
- Special licenses may be required to operate certain vehicles.
- 2-year experience may be required or preferred.
- Flexible and willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
- Strong time management and customer service skills.
- Ability to walk, drive, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods.
- Attention to detail.
